Billing

Walkthrough video — coming soon

Billing is every invoice you've raised, across every case, in one table. Use it when the question is about money rather than about a particular mediation.

The three figures

Revenue, Amount Paid and Amount Owed, all following the date filter in the top right.

Revenue is everything invoiced, paid or not. Amount Paid is what's settled. Amount Owed is the rest. The three always reconcile: $42,000 invoiced, $16,000 paid, $26,000 owed.

Finding an invoice

  • Search by case, party or invoice across all three.
  • The date filter beside it, defaulting to Upcoming Cases.
  • Filters for payment status and corporate code.

Reading a row

Who it was invoiced to, the case number and title, the invoice number, the due date, the mediation date, the amount, a download link and a status.

Statuses you'll see:

  • Pending — sent, unpaid.
  • Paid by Stripe — the party paid through the invoice.
  • Manually Paid — you marked it paid outside Stripe.
  • No Payment — a $0 placeholder row with no real invoice behind it. Hourly cases carry these until you bill something.

The download link gives you the invoice while it's unpaid and the receipt once it's paid.

Acting on a row

The three-dot menu at the end of each row is where a pending invoice can be marked paid by hand. See How to mark an invoice as paid.

To change an invoice's contents, open the case and use Edit Invoice. To raise a new one, use Create Invoice — see How to create an additional invoice.
