How to book a case on behalf of a mediator
When counsel phones in a date rather than booking it themselves, you can take the booking for them. The Booking Link page carries a live copy of the mediator's own public booking page, so what you fill in is exactly what counsel would have filled in, and the case, the invoices and the onboarding emails all come out the same way.
Before you begin
- The mediator must have the date open on their calendar. A date that is booked,
held, or simply not opened can't be selected. If the date you need isn't there, see How to open up a mediation date.
- Have both sides' attorney names and email addresses to hand. They go in at
step 3 and they're who the invoices and onboarding emails go to.
1Open Booking Link and pick the mediator
Choose the mediator in the Mediator booking link dropdown. The booking page loads underneath, headed with that mediator's name — Aisha Bellamy in the shot above — and with their rates.
Note the line under the widget: "This is the real booking page. Anything booked here creates a real case." There is no practice mode here.
2Pick the date
The calendar colour-codes what's available:
- Green — open
- Green and white split — half day only
- Red — booked
- Amber — on hold for someone else
- Solid green dot — virtual only
Click an open date and press Next.
3Fill in the details
Step 2 of the widget, Details, takes the case itself — the case name and how long the mediation runs.
If the firm has a corporate code, Enter Corporate Code on the rate card is where it goes. It changes the rate that will be invoiced, so enter it here rather than fixing the invoice afterwards.
4Add the parties
Step 3 takes each side's attorney and email address.
What's next
- The case appears on Cases straight away
- Each side gets a booking confirmation and an onboarding form; the invoice
follows when they complete onboarding
